Music should lift people up and enhance worship, making worshippers more receptive to the word of God.
Music is a very important part of worship at The United Church. From formal organ music to campfire songs, music enhances our worship experience.
The United Singers present a choral anthem each week during worship from Fall through Spring. All interested singers are welcome to join – high school age through adult. The Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings. The musical styles range from classical to contemporary. The Choir also leads the congregation in singing responses as part of worship.
During the summer, members and friends present special music for worship.
Suzanne Johnson, Director of Music Ministries, strives to provide music of different styles, from classical to contemporary. “Music should lift people up and enhance worship, making worshippers more receptive to the word of God.”
The United Church of Los Alamos is filled with music! From pipe organ to piano to guitar, choirs, bells, chimes, and special solo and small ensemble music in the summer, we make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
